ARTIST STATEMENT
I work primarily with watercolor to create vibrant abstract paintings which capture my obsession with color. I also enjoy working with gouache, acrylic, oil pastel, and collage. Much of my process consists of experimenting with different techniques that leave an element of chance in the resulting image, reflecting the nature of exploration found in the areas of psychology, science, and spirituality which inspire most of my creations. The foundation of my work comes from my love for art therapy in all its forms, as well as the joy I find while engaging with art. My goal is to have a positive impact on others through the power of art. As long as people enjoy art I have hope for the future. Let's be hopeful together! BIO I transform my paintings into worlds of color by using experimental painting techniques and having a lot of fun with color theory. I have always been passionate about making art from a young age; I have pursued my calling as an artist ever since. My work has been shown in several exhibitions throughout central Ohio since 2006, including the Ohio State Fair Fine Arts Exhibition. I graduated from the Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a minor in Art Therapy summa cum laude in 2015. Prior to attending CCAD, I also studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in the Bachelor of Fine Arts with an Emphasis in Writing program for one year. I continue to create art whenever I can while seeking opportunities to share my work with others.
